King Khan turns 53 today! The trailer of his movie Zero also releases today. So it’s a day of double celebration for Shah Rukh Khan and his fans. His birthday celebrations began at his Mumbai home with his girl gang and the actor also stepped out on the terrace of his royal home Mannat to greet thousands of fans.
The actor was born on 2 November 1965 to Late Meer Taj Mohammed Khan (a freedom fighter) and Lateef Fatima. He lived his early life and completed his education in Delhi. He has a degree in Economics (Hons) from Hansraj College and pursued post graduation in Mass Communication at the Jamia Millia Islamia University. The actor lost his parents at a very young age. He dared to fall in love with a Hindu girl, struggled hard to convince her parents and finally married her on 25 October 1991.
SRK has acted in more than 80 movies, however, his journey began as small screen actor with the serial Fauji in 1988 and Circus in 1989. Eventually, he got a break in Bollywood in 1992 with the film Deewana. Initially, the actor played a lot of anti-hero roles in his movies Darr, Baazigar and eventually became the King of Romance with his movies Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil Toh Paagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and many more. His movies Badshah, Devdas, Chad De! India, My Name is Khan also became huge hits.
Starting out with a salary of Rs. 50 and currently he has the net worth of Rs. 4610 crore today. He owns the production house Red Chillies Entertainments, Indian Premier League cricket franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, and KidZania(children’s entertainment company).
The Government of India honored him with Padma Shri for his contributions to the entertainment industry in India. France honored the actor with Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Legion d’honneur.
