The no-’poo trend i.e. the no shampoo trend is all over the internet. The trend started with idea that hair care products are loaded with chemicals and do more damage than good. They also rip the scalp off natural oils. The movement aims to prove that you can have healthy hair without using expensive shampoos.

How to be a part of the no-’poo movement

To participate in the no-’poo challenge, all you’ll need to do is ditch your shampoo and rinse your hair just once in five days instead of everyday or every alternate day.

Is ditching the shampoo good for your hair?

Several people have tried this challenge and they claim that avoiding shampoo have given them healthier, shinier and less frizzy hair. If you ever feel the need, then you must use cleaners do not contain detergent.

What are the alternatives that can be used for hair cleansing?

The most common alternatives that people use during this challenge are a mixture of baking soda and water for cleansing. Take a cup of water and add a tablespoon of baking soda in it.The ratio of water to baking soda is important. Avoid using more baking soda. Put this mixture in water and shake really well. Wet your hair, apply the mixture to your scalp and rub in circular motion. Rinse well. Focus only on the scalp.

For conditioning use a mixture of apple cider vinegar with water. Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (ACV) with one or two cups of water. Rinse the entire head with the mixture.

What changes will you notice?

Initially, you’ll see a lot of bad hair days. This could range from two weeks to a month. Your scalp will try to adjust with the change.

After the initial breaking in period you’ll see better hair days and finally you’ll notice healthy hair.
